Medina, the holy city of Saudi Arabia is the state whose inhabitants gave the pledge of Islam and welcomed our beloved Prophet Muhammad PBUH with open hearts. The Seven Mosques
These small six mosques are visited by most of the people and add the seventh one which is situated at a kilometer away from the other. This Mosque is called "Mosques of two Qiblas.”
Al-Fath Mosque
It is located on the hilltop of the Sal Mountain and is the largest of all. It was built in the reign of Umar ibn Abdul Aziz in 87to 93 Hijrah. The mosque was rebuilt under Ottoman Sultan Abdul Majid in the year 1851.
Salman Al-Farsi Mosque
Towards the south of AL Fath mosque, Salman Al Farsi mosque is situated. It is around 20 meters away from the Sal Mountain and named after the companion of beloved Prophet Muhammad PBUH. It was Salm Farsi who suggested building a trench in the famous war which fortified the city from all sides. This mosque was also built during the government of Umar ibn Abdul Aziz and was rebuilt in 575 Hijrah.
Abu Bakr Siddiq Mosque
Towards 15 meters southwest of Salman Farsi mosque, Abu Bakr Siddiq mosque is situated. Abu Bakr offered Eid Prayer at this very place when he was a caliph. It is also reported that Prophet Muhammad PBUH offered Edi prayer at the same place.
Umar bin Al-Khattab Mosque
10 meters away from the Abu Bakr mosque, the Umar Bin Al-Khattab mosque is located. This mosque is close to Prophet’s mosque and opposite to Al-Ghamamah mosque.
Fatima al-Zahra Mosque
It is also known as Musab bin Muaz mosque and is small mosque of all. it has a little step and was also built during the reign of Ottomans.
Ali bin Abi Talib Mosque
Ali ibn Abi Talib mosque is towards the east of Fatima mosque and is located on the rectangular hilltop. It is 6.5 meters wide and 8.5 meters long. It was renovated around the time when Al-Fath mosque was refurbished.
