The Islamic Month of Muharram Al Haram


(Arabic word: مُحَرَّم) Muharram is the first Islamic month of Islamic calendar. It is among the four sacred months of the year.

The Holy Quran says: "According to Allah the number of the months is twelve (mentioned) in the Book of Allah (SWT), on the day in which He created heavens & the earth. There are four sanctified among these (twelve months)"

Muslims begin their Lunar Hijrah Calendar in Muharram.

Shia Muslims mourns the death of Imam-e-Hussain & his family on specific days of Muharram by praying in abundance and refraining from all joyous events. It is to remember the high sacrifice of the martyrs.
All over the world, Muslims arrange and participate in the Mehfil-e-Naat at the day of Muharram-ul-Haram to gain Reward. Also as we know that the entire Muslim world sacrificed their lives for the development and enlargement of the only true religion “Islam”.

The Day of Ashura

According to The Holy Quran, the “Battle of Karbala” took place within the crisis environment resulting from the succession of Yazid.
Hazrat-Abu-Huraira says: “The Prophet Mohammad PBUH said, after the month of fasting “Ramadan” "The Allah's month Muharram comes”.
